Agreement and eligibility

By uploading a document or otherwise using LessTokens, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You must have legal capacity to enter into this agreement. The beta is not directed to children.

The beta service

LessTokens converts supported documents into AI-ready Markdown and provides estimated token information.

• The service is an early beta and may contain defects, omissions, interruptions, or inaccurate formatting.
• File-size, page, format, rate, and daily-use limits may be changed to protect reliability and prevent abuse.
• You must review conversion output before relying on it. LessTokens is not a substitute for the original document or professional legal, financial, medical, or technical review.

Acceptable use

LessTokens is a document-preparation tool. You are responsible for the content you upload and how you use the output.

• Only upload documents you own or have the legal right to process. Do not upload copyrighted works you are not authorized to reproduce.
• Do not use LessTokens to reproduce, redistribute, or resell copyrighted content you do not own — for example, converting commercial magazines, books, or paywalled material to repackage or resell.
• We actively discourage and design against misuse: uploads are auto-deleted, usage is rate-limited, and we do not build features whose main purpose is mass-copying others' publications.
• Rights holders can contact us to report infringing use. We may investigate valid reports and restrict access where reasonably necessary.

Sensitive information

During the beta, do not upload passwords, authentication secrets, government identification numbers, detailed medical records, children's personal data, or other highly sensitive information unless strictly necessary and legally authorized.

Ownership

You retain your rights in documents you upload and conversion outputs derived from them. You grant us only the limited permission needed to receive, process, temporarily store, and return the content to provide the service. LessTokens, its software, branding, and site content remain the property of the operator or its licensors.

Changes, suspension, and termination

We may modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue the free beta, and may block use that threatens security, violates these Terms, infringes rights, or abuses service limits. We will use reasonable judgment and comply with mandatory law.

As-is beta; no warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LessTokens is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free conversion, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of document layout. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business losses arising from the free beta, loss of data, or reliance on conversion output. This limitation does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, or any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China). The Taiwan Taipei District Court shall be the court of first instance, except where mandatory consumer-protection or jurisdiction rules entitle you to rely on the laws or courts of your habitual residence or another jurisdiction.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the beta evolves. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through the service or another reasonable notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, where permitted by law.
